BitGive Welcomes New Members to its Board of Directors

BitGive, the first cryptocurrency nonprofit that leverages the power of blockchain technology to improve public health and the environment worldwide, announced the election of new board members at its first Board of Directors meeting of 2020. New members Gabriel Abed, Founder at Bitt.com; Paul Lamb, Principal at Man on a Mission Consulting; and Justin Steffen, Litigation Partner at Ice Miller LLP, bring their knowledge and experience to support the global charitable causes for which BitGive provides transparent and reliable cryptocurrency funding and reporting options.

Gabriel Abed is a blockchain evangelist and Bitcoin veteran with more than 15 years in the technology industry. Being a huge proponent of central banking for digital currencies, in 2013 he founded Bitt.com, a fintech enterprise established to offer financial solutions to the world's unbanked communities. Abed is also the founder of Digital Asset Fund (DAF), the first regulated digital asset mutual fund in the Caribbean, and founding member of Global Blockchain Business Council. In 2018, Abed was appointed as the special technology advisor to the Honorable David Burt, Premier of Bermuda. Additionally, Abed acts as an advisor and director to several exchanges and banking projects across major financial jurisdictions such as: GSX in Gibraltar; InvestaCrowd's ICTX in Singapore; Jewel Bank LLC. in Bermuda; and Dex.ae in the United Arab Emirates; among other blockchain-based companies around the world.

Paul Lamb has more than 25 years experience as a consultant, nonprofit executive, and entrepreneur. He is currently the Principal of Man on a Mission Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, fundraising, research, and facilitation/training in the social sector. His diverse portfolio of over 35 clients includes Goodwill, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Benetech, and Cisco Systems. Additionally, Paul has built several successful nonprofit organizations and social enterprises in the areas of youth development, workforce development, and technology.

Justin Steffen brings nearly two decades of legal experience in the finance and technology sectors. As a litigation partner at Ice Miller LLP, Steffen helps fintech, blockchain, and traditional companies navigate the legal and regulatory obstacles to innovation. Additionally, Steffen is the founder and Chair of the CBA’s Financial and Emerging Technologies Committee, and an adjunct professor at Northwestern Law School and Loyola School of Law where he teaches fintech and law.

These new members join the existing Board of Directors, a group of esteemed professionals, entrepreneurs and C-suite executives with decades of experience in a variety of industries, including: technology, law, policy, software development, venture capital, fintech, and philanthropy. The BitGive Board of Directors offers 3 year-long terms to interested members, with a maximum of two consecutive terms, for a total of 6 years.
